"Have you gals run outa gas?"

***Miles travelled today: 144

What started out as a day of 'Scouting for Moose' (yes-we found one-see the photo attached); became a day of interesting events....Read On :)

Well, guess who sat behind the wheel this morning? Linz got to practice driving the car on the sedate and sleepy lanes of Vermont and decided it would be a good idea to run the tank to almost empty, 'just to see how far we can go as it's good to have a gauge'.....Well, did that cause me some anxiety or what but she has assured me that as she now knows, it will not need to be done again. The positive side to this is that it got us talking to some 'Real Locals', fully bearded (must help with the cold winters we think) and pointing us to the nearest gas station-which-was closed! Luckily, there was another just a couple of miles down the road-which another bearded fella pointed out.

Having sorted the petrol situation out, I was calm enough to enjoy the views which were stunning and breath-taking....Vermont is not only idyllic, but it is peaceful, green and smells of sweetness (we think it's the maple syrup they make everywhere Fred). There are so many shades of green that you can only begin to imagine what it must feel like to be a 'leaf-peeper' in the autumn (they seriously call themselves that!)

Linz found this info on a Buddhist retreat, which was only a short distance from where we're staying and we made our way there. It was far up in the green hills and completely peaceful, filled with cherry blossom trees and prayer flags. It was wonderful just to take a moment.... We completed a really relaxing day by sitting in the outdoor hot-tub taking in the scenery.

The pics haven't been uploaded for today as the connection is 'real slow mam' - shall add the photos tomorrow as we head off for the next instalment of our adventure .
